King George V lived a completely scandal free, rather bourgeois type of life whereas his son, with his liaison with the extravagant and on top of that the several times divorcer American, Wallis Simpson caused furore. King George V was obviously “not amused”. If only there had been these cups back then! Most likely the King would have drunk very stylishly tea from it and after that he would have waited a moment then he would have been quite unconcerned by his son´s antics.
